Job summary

Professional Recruitment Australia – Melbourne VIC is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer for a 6-month contract. The role is hybrid in Melbourne, focusing on uplifting automation, improving quality and accelerating software delivery across web, mobile and API platforms.

Key responsibilities include building automation frameworks, API/web/mobile tests, CI/CD pipelines, and coaching QA team members on best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience building or uplifting automation frameworks.
• Hands-on Playwright or Cypress with TypeScript.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript programming skills.
• API automation with tools such as SuperTest, Jest, Mocha, Chai or Cucumber
• Web/mobile automation across platforms using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, WebDriver, Appium or Detox
• Experience with Node.js and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins
• Understanding of TDD, coding best practices and Agile delivery
• Exposure to AWS and Docker is advantageous
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable coaching others and challenging existing ways of working

Key Requirements

• Strong experience building or uplifting automation frameworks

• API automation experience with tools such as SuperTest, Jest, Mocha, Chai or Cucumber
• Web/mobile automation experience using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, WebDriver, Appium or Detox
• Experience with Node.jsand CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
• Understanding of TDD, coding best practices and Agile delivery
• Exposure to AWS and Dockeris advantageous
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable coaching others and challenging existing ways of working

Wagering or high-volume digital experience is desirable but not essential.
