Job summary

Saab Australia is seeking a Senior System Integration Engineer – ATM to join our Melbourne team. You will bridge the Air Traffic Management product design with developers and customer teams to deliver integrated ATM solutions across Australia.

The role requires extensive ATM domain experience, systems engineering expertise and the ability to manage complex interfaces, with options for hybrid work from home / office. Applicants must be Australian citizens with clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Degree in software engineering/computer science.
• Eligible for chartered engineering status and state registration.
• Minimum of 8 years’ ATM domain experience including system integration.
• In-depth knowledge of network, network security, XML and Linux.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies.
• Test and validation of software.
• Demonstrable knowledge of the system engineering process.
• Ability to derive high‑level requirements and implement.
• Ability to review specifications, interface documentation and drawings.
• Ability to write clear technical reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork.
• Awareness of safety, ILS, cybersecurity and supportability.

Responsibilities

• Map customer requirements to system solutions based on Saab’s ATM portfolio.
• Perform requirements analysis, developing specification documents and design verification.
• Develop external interface specifications, system design documents and acceptance test documents.
• Effectively contribute to ATM project realisation through system integration.
• Coordinate with product software teams in specification, design, development and verification.
• Lead integration activities and manage parameterisation defects and customer validation.
• Deploy, configure, integrate and test ATM system software and parameterisation on site.
• Follow policies, guidelines and safety/quality/environment procedures.
