Job summary

St. Leger Brockman Legal Recruitment + Secondments in Sydney seeks a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join its Property Disputes team. You will work with a respected partner on a broad range of property and development disputes, leasing, strata law and land access issues.

Applicants will have 5+ years PQE in property disputes or commercial litigation, a NSW practicing certificate, and strong drafting and advocacy skills. The firm offers an inclusive culture and clear path to progression.

Qualifications

• 5+ years PQE in property disputes or commercial litigation.
• Law degree and admission to practice in New South Wales with a current, unrestricted practicing certificate.
• Good understanding of court practices and procedures.
• Ability to draft legal documentation with strong attention to detail.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and autonomously as required.
• Proven ability to prioritise workload within a busy environment and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional communication skills both with your colleagues and clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and manage files in a clear and logical manner within required timeframes whilst developing sound case management strategies
• Draft, engross and settle varied types of advices and legal correspondence
• Drafting pleadings
• Appear in Court for call-overs, directions hearings, motions or to instruct Counsel
• Speak to witnesses and briefing experts
• Attend Mediations and Settlement Conferences

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to work in an established litigation practice specialising in commercial and property disputes. You will work closely with a highly regarded partner on a broad range of property and development disputes, leasing, strata law, land contract and access to land issues.
