Job summary

NAB is seeking a Senior Associate in Credit Structuring & Execution NSW/ACT to specialise in structuring credit transactions and managing end-to-end processes. You will collaborate with Client Coverage and Product teams to deliver seamless client outcomes.

Ideal candidates bring strong credit and execution experience, solid Excel modelling, and a deep understanding of risk policies, APRA standards, and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business or Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with structuring credit transactions and end-to-end process including credit submissions, financial analysis and modelling.
  • Monitor risk profile and portfolio hygiene; ensure data accuracy.
  • Review valuation reports and obtain sign-off from Valuations team when required.
  • Submit monthly progress claims for construction transactions for approval.
  • Coordinate workflow between Client Coverage, CSE, Product Specialists, Credit and client support teams.
  • Keep informed on credit policy, credit and market risk and internal risk appetite.
  • Embed quality and continuous improvement in CSE for credit submissions and turnaround times.
  • Collaborate across the Enterprise to enhance NAB objectives and customer experience.
  • Support coaching of Associates and Analysts to lift performance and capability.

In the role of Senior Associate, you will work closely with Credit Structuring & Execution NSW/ACT and Client Coverage team, contributing to key business priorities and continuously improving how we serve our customers.

You’ll Make An Impact Each Day By
  • Assisting with the structuring of credit transactions and management of the end‑to‑end process, including the preparation of credit submissions, financial analysis and modelling, documentation and making recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Ongoing management and monitoring of the risk profile and requirements of assigned client groups, ensuring portfolio hygiene is kept to a high standard and system data is accurate
  • Reviewing valuation reports and where required, submitting for sign‑off by our Valuations team
  • Reviewing and submitting monthly progress claims for construction transactions for approval
  • Workflow management between Client Coverage, CSE, Product Specialists, Credit, and client support teams to ensure a seamless client experience
  • Maintaining an ongoing awareness of current credit policy, credit and market risk, and internal risk appetite
  • Driving and embedding quality, consistency, and continuous improvement practices / activities in CSE, with emphasis on improving the quality of credit submissions, turnaround times and management of business risks
  • Collaboration across the Enterprise to maximise the effectiveness of NAB’s objectives and deliverables, including a great customer experience
  • Assisting with the coaching of Associates and Analysts within the team and others more broadly, to support high performance and an uplift in capability.
  • Driving the desired Enterprise culture of trust, effective decision‑making, strategic agility and constructive challenging
You’ll Bring To This Role
  • Tertiary qualifications, preferably with a degree in Business or Finance or a related discipline
  • World‑class Customer service and relationship skills
  • A passion for the Property sector, with experience in Property Finance or Corporate Finance (with Property Finance exposure).
  • Cashflow lending skills are also highly desirable
  • Extensive professional experience in the financial industry
  • Excel modelling and deal structuring skills
  • An understanding of, and dealing with, APRA Prudential standards, particularly APS112/113
  • Previous experience successfully managing internal and external stakeholders
  • Advanced understanding of Risk policies, including Credit Risk, Operational Risk, AML etc.
  • Ability to understand and interpret economic and market factors and events
  • Ability to understand complex proposals and provide solutions
  • Sound negotiation and consultation experience
  • Sound credit and execution experience
