Manager, Lateral Recruitment at HSF Kramer

Our Band 1 ranked Competition, Regulation and Trade practice is expanding, and we have an opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Sydney office.

Our team is widely recognised by peers and legal directories as one of the leading teams in the field. We advise many of Australia's and the world's leading organisations, across the full spectrum of competition, consumer law and regulatory work, including cartel and behavioural investigations, litigation, merger clearances, and regulatory advice.

Our clients operate in a wide range of industry sectors including telecommunications, tech, energy and natural resources, financial institutions, infrastructure, transport, manufacturing and industrials and retail.

Under the leadership of Partners Linda Evans, Liza Carver, Patrick Gay, Sarah Benbow, Stephanie Panayi and Jared Peut, our competition practice works as both a close national and global team, which will provide career opportunities you simply cannot get elsewhere.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience as a Senior Associate in a leading private practice firm or relevant regulator experience in Australia.
  • In-depth experience in competition and/or consumer and regulatory law, ideally in both advisory and contentious work.
  • An excellent academic record, and natural commitment to continuous learning.
  • Strong communication skills and an enjoyment for developing junior Lawyers.
  • An ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously.
  • A curiosity about our client's businesses, and an ability to build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to support the ongoing growth of the practice.

The Group

Our practice is recognised as being market leading for competition and consumer law and regulation in Australia and across Asia. We have unrivalled experience of acting on the most high profile and complex matters in these areas and we have deep expertise in the energy, resources and industrial sectors.

We bring a focussed and commercial approach to competition and consumer law issues, drawing on our sector knowledge and our deep understanding of commercial objectives and stakeholder needs.

We are recognised by clients as providing clear, practical and highly commercial advice. We are sought after to provide strategic advice to boards on the most sensitive competition law risks and issues for both enforcement and M&A.

In addition to competition and consumer law matters, our team has extensive experience in advising on access and economic regulation matters for regulated assets and access seekers.
