Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced Asphalt Supervisor to lead asphalt surfacing projects across the Northern Territory, based out of Berrimah. You will coordinate crews, plant and resources while ensuring safe, efficient delivery to high quality standards.

You will monitor productivity and outputs, manage budgets, and foster strong relationships with clients and suppliers. A hands-on leader will coach the team and drive continuous improvements in a zero-harm culture.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Frontline Management or similar qualification (preferred).
• Proven experience in asphalt surfacing, road construction or civil infrastructure operations.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing crews and resources in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong planning, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Experience managing project budgets, productivity and operational performance.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise asphalt crews, subcontractors, plant and resources across multiple projects.
• Plan and coordinate daily works, resources, plant movements and construction activities.
• Monitor project delivery, productivity, quality outcomes and financial performance.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Coach, mentor and develop team members while driving accountability and performance.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and efficiencies.
• Promote and maintain a strong Zero Harm culture.
