Job summary

Downer is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Berrimah, NT. The ideal candidate will have exposure to spray seal, asphalt or civil road construction and a drive to learn all aspects of our operations within a dynamic team.

You will support project delivery, track cost and schedule, engage with Project Managers and Commercial teams, and contribute to tendering and client relations while upholding Downer's Zero Harm safety culture.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years exposure in bituminous or asphalt surfacing, civil road construction or road maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction to crew and liaise with customers.
• Proven planning, organising and time management capabilities.
• Commercial acumen and understanding of project costing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of allocated projects to agreed time, cost, quality and safety objectives.
• Monitor project cost, program, safety and commercial performance.
• Assist with risk identification, issue resolution and opportunity realisation.
• Work with Project Managers, Project Engineers and Commercial teams.
• Participate in project meetings and prepare reports and presentations as required.
• Contribute to tendering, estimating and business development activities when required.
• Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Promote and sustain a Zero Harm safety culture across all activities.
