Job summary

Downer in Australia is delivering Victoria’s largest transport infrastructure. The Asphalt Project Engineer will own the delivery of civil and asphalt construction works on the North East Link Project, collaborating with experienced professionals to meet safety, quality, programme and cost targets.

You will build client relationships, manage budgets, lead risk and contract administration, and champion Downer’s Zero Harm culture while driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering civil construction, asphalt, surfacing or infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial acumen with budgets, forecasts and cost control experience.
• Understanding of contract administration and project delivery methodologies.
• Ability to lead project outcomes in a collaborative environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proactive problem solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Commitment to safety leadership and Zero Harm culture.

Responsibilities

• Managing the delivery of allocated projects from planning through to completion
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to specification
• Monitoring commercial performance, forecasting and cost control
• Managing subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders
• Driving project programmes and identifying opportunities to improve performance
• Leading risk management and ensuring timely resolution of project issues
• Preparing and reviewing project reports, claims and contractual documentation
• Supporting tender development and estimating activities
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Championing Downer's Zero Harm culture and safety leadership expectations
