Job summary

C&D Asphalting is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to own day-to-day operations and drive growth in the asphalt sector. Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and coordinate across projects.

You will manage asphalt projects from commencement to completion, liaising with clients and suppliers, ensuring Australian Standards and WHS compliance, and delivering on time and on budget.

Qualifications

• Strong background in asphalt, civil or construction.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
• Highly organised, results-driven and detail-oriented.
• Experience delivering road infrastructure and maintenance projects.
• Knowledge of contract management and procurement processes.
• Experience with live roadworks, construction and traffic management environments.
• White card - mandatory.
• Local Government or State Government experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate contract works to achieve time, cost, quality and scope outcomes.
• Procure and manage service providers and contractors.
• Prepare contract documentation and technical specifications.
• Monitor project delivery and contractor performance.
• Conduct site visits before and after works.
• Implement WHS and environmental management practices.
• Day-to-day operational decision making.
• Pursuing new customers and opportunities.
• Identifying new opportunities and securing new business.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers.
• Manage tender submissions, quotations and EOIs.
