Job summary

Inner West Council seeks an Aquatic and Recreation Centre Manager to lead the operation of the Annette Kellerman and Fanny Durack Aquatic Centres, overseeing learn-to-swim, health and fitness, recreation, gym, and community programs.

You will drive high-quality service delivery, manage budgets and risks, and develop initiatives aligned with community needs and council standards, while leading a team in a dynamic, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in recreation or a related discipline and/ or equivalent industry experience.
• Extensive experience in Aquatic and Recreations and health and fitness centres and the management of community programs, services and facilities, including strategy, policy and program development.
• Extensive experience in leading engagement and facilitation to achieve set objectives and a commitment to community development principles.
• Extensive experience in managing Aquatic and Recreations operations, associated asset, compliance, risk and safety management.
• Specialist skills and experience in business planning and management, project management, contract management, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe, effective and customer-focused operation of Council’s Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre and Fanny Durack Aquatic Centre.
• Oversee learn to swim, health and fitness, recreation, gym and community programs.
• Drive high-quality service delivery, sound financial and risk management, and continuous improvement.
• Shape services that are inclusive, responsive and community-focused, aligned with Council values and industry standards.
