Job summary

Belgravia Leisure’s NSW Gunyama Park Aquatic and Recreation Centre invites an experienced Assistant Centre Manager to lead daily operations and staff in the absence of the Centre Manager. You will drive centre-wide results across customer experience, sales, learn-to-swim programs, and health and safety compliance, while fostering teamwork and delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Lead the centre in the absence of the Centre Manager, guiding operations and staff.
• Drive attendance, buyer experience, and program participation across leisure and aquatic services.
• Ensure health, safety, risk mitigation and compliance with NSW guidelines and pool operations.
• Oversee sales, revenue, and delivery of 360 products and learn-to-swim programs.

As a key member of our Centre’s Leadership Team, the Assistant Centre Manager assists with the people and process revenue, and all other operational elements of a recreation and/or aquatic centre covered by the ‘City of Sydney Contract’.

Gunyama Park opened late 2020 and is Australia’s largest single investment in aquatic infrastructure since the Sydney Olympic Games. The facility includes indoor and outdoor pools, a health and fitness centre and more!

The Role

The roles focus on helping to deliver centre-wide results, while also being responsible for leading and managing the centre in the absence of the Centre Manager. This requires the position holder to lead by example and hold a range of skills and capabilities across all centre functions including customer experience, 360 products, learn to swim programs, health and safety compliance, and pool operations.

Crucial role to provide centre leadership and assist with driving leisure centre attendance and program participation, in a context of health, safety and compliance. With key accountabilities for Sales, Patron Experience, Risk Mitigation and Compliance.

Prior experience in industry sectors such as Health, Fitness, Aquatics, Hospitality, Tourism, Retail or Business. Proven team leader or people management and have an overall ability to lead, motivating a team and developing others.

If you have excellent customer service skills, sales, and the ability to achieve targets and key performance indicators.

Our leader demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, resilience, and ability to accept feedback. You will need to also have an understanding of WHS and risk including the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations and NSW Health regulations.
