Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the electrical design of data center substations across the APAC portfolio. The role requires hands-on design experience from concept through commissioning, coordinating with utilities, vendors, and internal teams to meet safety and reliability standards.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in industrial or mission-critical engineering, a PE license, and strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of substation design experience.
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities.
• Experience with design or construction administration of electrical distribution systems (low to high voltage).
• Professional Engineering License and knowledge of building codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design of data center substations across APAC.
• Design and manage high and medium voltage substation systems on multiple projects.
• Collaborate with vendors, utility providers, and internal teams.
• Review equipment submittals and provide technical support during construction.
• Support commissioning and startup activities and site reviews.
