Job summary

Wood Mackenzie is seeking a Senior Research Analyst focused on Power & Renewables in APAC, with emphasis on solar and BESS markets. You will own research coverage, develop datasets, and deliver authoritative market insights to clients across Australia, New Zealand and developed markets.

You will author market reports, forecasts, and ad-hoc pieces, and present findings at client briefings, webinars, and industry events. Strong modelling, data analysis and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in the power and renewables sector, with a strong preference for APAC exposure.
• Demonstrated expertise in solar and/or BESS market analysis, including costs, project economics, grid integration, policy mechanisms, and competitive dynamics.
• Proven track record of producing high-quality, commercially oriented research publications and presenting findings to senior audiences.
• Experience with long-term power market forecasting models (Aurora, Plexos) and data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Python).
• Strong analytical capabilities with ability to apply quantitative and qualitative methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to engage credibly with clients.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Wood Mackenzie’s subject-matter expert on APAC solar and BESS markets, owning the research coverage and delivering authoritative views.
• Author high-profile research deliverables, including market reports, updates, datasets and ad-hoc pieces.
• Develop and maintain proprietary analytical models and datasets for deployment forecasts.
• Collaborate with regional Power & Renewables team for integrated APAC views.
• Deliver professional presentations at Wood Mackenzie events, client briefings and webinars.
• Engage with research clients through briefings and inquiries, building trusted relationships.
• Collaborate with consulting, marketing and commercial teams to extend research reach.
• Monitor policy, regulatory and market developments for implications on solar and BESS.
