Job summary

Wood Mackenzie APAC Power & Renewables research team is seeking an experienced analyst to cover solar and BESS markets across Australia, New Zealand and other developed markets. You will develop datasets, run long‑term forecasts, and publish market insights for clients and internal stakeholders.

You will present findings at industry events, support client briefings, and collaborate with regional teams to deliver integrated APAC perspectives on the energy transition.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of relevant experience in power & renewables, with APAC exposure.
• Expertise in solar and/or BESS market analysis, including costs and policy mechanisms.
• Proven track record of high‑quality research publications and presenting findings.
• Experience with long‑term forecasting models (Aurora, Plexos) and data tools (Excel/SQL/Python).
• Strong written and verbal communication for client‑facing settings.
• Curiosity about energy transition and ability to connect findings to investment trends.
• Quantitative degree in engineering, economics, finance, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject‑matter expert on APAC solar and BESS markets.
• Author high‑profile research deliverables and datasets.
• Develop proprietary models and datasets on deployment, forecasts, costs.
• Collaborate with regional Power & Renewables team for integrated APAC views.
• Present findings at Wood Mackenzie events, client briefings, and webinars.
• Engage directly with research clients through briefings and inquiries.
• Collaborate with consulting, marketing, and commercial teams to extend reach.
• Monitor policy/regulatory developments and their market impact.
