Job summary

NexVenture is partnering with an exceptional data team to hire a Senior Analytics Engineer in Sydney, a newly created role exclusive to NexVenture. You will build and maintain high‑quality data models and pipelines to support agentic and LLM‑driven workflows across the analytics stack.

You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders, develop SQL/dbt models, Python pipelines, and cloud data solutions on a modern stack, while upholding data quality and governance. Hybrid work options apply.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years’ experience in an analytics-leaning data engineering role, ideally within a GCP environment.
• Deep SQL and dbt capability, with strong modelling fundamentals (semantic or dimensional).
• Solid Python skills for integration, analysis, and pipeline development.
• Cloud experience, with GCP strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with modern data stack tools such as Fivetran, clickstream ingestion, or other high‑volume data sources.
• Experience with agentic workflows and LLM‑driven automation (e.g., LangChain, tool‑calling, code generation, monitoring, or data quality agents)
• Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders, translating business needs into clear technical requirements and dependable data models
• Bonus: Airflow, Snowplow, or e‑commerce data experience

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high‑quality SQL and dbt models for clarity and decision‑making.
• Develop reliable, scalable data pipelines using Python and orchestration tools.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into reliable data models.
• Lift data quality, documentation, testing, and modelling standards.
• Support real-time and high‑volume data sources across analytics, marketing, logistics, and product.
