Job summary

Senior Analytics Engineer at Sydney Local Health District leads the design, build and optimisation of a new cloud data platform. You will own pipelines, data models and reporting components, migrating legacy SQL logic to the cloud to deliver trusted insights for clinical and operational needs.

The role requires hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt Core, strong SQL and Python skills, and relevant data-related qualifications.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven hands-on experience delivering large-scale, production-grade cloud data platforms end-to-end (Snowflake, dbt Core).
• Strong SQL and Python engineering skills applied to pipelines, platform automation and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build and optimisation of the cloud data platform, including pipelines, data models and reporting components.
• Retrieve and migrate relevant business logic from legacy SQL environments to the cloud while archiving legacy databases as needed.
• Ensure trusted, actionable insight aligns with clinical and operational needs of the organisation.
