Job summary

Sydney Local Health District is seeking an experienced Senior Analytics Engineer to lead the design, build, and optimisation of the new cloud data platform. You will manage pipelines, data models, and reporting components, migrating from legacy SQL to the cloud to deliver trusted insights for clinical and operational needs.

The role requires hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt Core, strong SQL/Python skills, and a track record of delivering large-scale data infrastructures in high-volume

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven, hands-on experience designing, building, and delivering large-scale, production-grade cloud data platforms end-to-end, including experience with Snowflake and dbt Core (or an equivalent modern cloud data stack).
• Strong SQL and Python engineering skills applied to pipeline development, platform automation, and operational tooling - such as monitoring, failover, and data movement - in complex, high-volume environments.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Snowflake, dbt, or equivalent cloud platform certifications) would be an advantage.
