Job summary

Xero is seeking a Senior Engineer - AI Builder to design and ship internal tools that reduce toil across Product & Technology. You will apply AI and engineering practices to build scalable software and connect key data systems.

In this hands-on role you will mentor teammates, prototype AI-enabled workflows, and collaborate with Jira, Confluence, and Workday integrations to streamline operating rhythms. Flexible remote days with in-office collaboration are available.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript and building end-to-end tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver internal operational tools for status reporting, headcount management, and automated roadmapping.
• Apply AI-first engineering to automate complex manual workflows using AI tooling and coding agents.
• Integrate platforms across the systems landscape via APIs including Jira, Confluence, Workday, and data warehouses.
• Prototype new AI-enabled solutions to eliminate friction and scale operations across the org.
• Mentor teammates across the business operations community to build AI capability.
