Job summary

Nuix is growing an AI engineering team in Sydney to own Enrich — our AI data-enrichment product — and integrate AI capabilities into the Nuix Neo platform. We seek a Senior Software Engineer who delivers features end-to-end, improves non-functional quality, and mentors junior engineers.

You will work across a cross-timezone team with product, architecture and data science, in a role that blends backend Java/Spring with React/TypeScript, Docker/Kubernetes on AWS, and AI awareness.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, senior level 5+ years.
• Strong backend Java and Spring; or React/TypeScript; full-stack valued.
• Python exposure and model-backed components is a plus.
• Experience with containerised, cloud and on-prem delivery (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS).
• Interest or experience in AI/LLM-backed features, agents or NLP/document-intelligence domains.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of significant features and epics — design, build, test and ship.
• Bring awareness of non-functional requirements (security, performance, DevOps) and ensure architecture principles are followed.
• Provide thoughtful code review on complex PRs, capturing security concerns and secure-by-design practices.
• Set and refine code best practices; help maintain and improve QA gates.
• Be active in architecture discussions and contribute to target state.
• Drive collaboration across teams and geographies; mentor mid-level and junior engineers.
• Contribute to designing and shipping AI agents and agentic capability in the platform.
