Thales Group in Melbourne seeks a Principal AI & Security Automation Engineer to shape next-generation security operations. You will design AI-powered automation, build AI agents, and create scalable security tooling across cloud, on-prem, and SIEM platforms.

This role requires deep AWS experience, Python, and strong security practice, with collaboration across engineering, delivery, and sales teams. Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation, semantic search, and CI/CD for secure, scalable

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software engineering, security automation, cloud platforms, AI/ML engineering, or DevSecOps.
• Strong proficiency in Python development, API integration, automation frameworks, and modern software practices.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI applications, AI agents, semantic search, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI agents, automation workflows, and cloud-native platforms to streamline security operations.
• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and AI copilots using AWS services.
• Engineer event-driven integrations across SIEMs, cloud services, and business systems.
• Create scalable tooling, ChatOps, and self-service capabilities for analysts and teams.
