Job summary

AWS Corporate Security Response in Melbourne seeks a Security Engineer who bridges hands-on incident response with intelligent automation. You will lead investigations end-to-end, analyze threats, and design autonomous capabilities to scale security across Amazon's corporate infrastructure.

You will shape agent-based investigations, author user stories for autonomous analysis, and build guardrails to keep AI systems safe while ensuring human-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, or IT security experience.
• Hands-on security operations, incident response, or security engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python or similar for automation.
• Experience with log analysis platforms and EDR tools.
• Knowledge of networking protocols and OS internals.

Responsibilities

• Lead Sev2 security investigations end-to-end: acknowledge, investigate, document, and resolve.
• Triage Sev2 candidates with clear indicators and documented rationales.
• Analyze open source threat intelligence and validate indicators quickly.
• Author and validate agent investigation user stories for autonomous investigations.
• Design guardrails and policies to prevent evasion and edge-case failures.
• Build scripts, detection rules, and automations to bridge gaps to scalable agentic capabilities.
• Participate in a global on-call rotation and maintain readiness.
• Execute clean shift handoffs and transfer ticket ownership.
