Job summary

Westpac Bank is seeking an AI Science Lead / Senior Manager to drive technical design and methodology across Business Banking & Wealth AI use cases. The role is hands-on, squad-connected and anchored in shared practice standards, with domain experience in business lending, wealth, credit risk or pricing preferred.

Qualifications

Strong track record delivering predictive AI in complex environments.
Experience with large language models and retrieval-based AI.
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and explain technical concepts.

Responsibilities

Shape technical plans with engineering, product and business partners.
Set technical direction for use cases and modelling approaches.
Design models and agent workflows with safeguards built in from the start.
Lift data practices, leakage prevention, validation and calibration.
Build and run evaluations with human oversight before release.
Embed AI risk, privacy and security controls with clear documentation.
Coach AI professionals and deliver the most complex technical work.
