Job summary

Nuix is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to anchor the AI-enabled data enrichment platform, leading architecture and engineering standards. You'll work with our Sydney team, mentoring engineers while hands-on coding, and shaping the next generation of agentic capabilities in Nuix Neo.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in software engineering, deep Java/Spring experience, and familiarity with AI/ML product delivery, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud services. Hybrid work in Sydney is offered.

Qualifications

• Degree, or equivalent, in computer science/engineering or related field.
• 10+ years software engineering experience with a track record of solving complex problems at scale.
• Experience shipping AI features, agents or model-backed products is highly desirable.
• Strong backend Java and Spring; experience with TypeScript/React frontend is a plus.
• Python exposure valued for ML workflows; comfortable with data scientists.

Responsibilities

• Lead application architecture in partnership with the Architecture function; converge on target-state tech.
• Set and uphold engineering standards across code quality, security, and secure-by-design practices.
• Improve reliability and performance; troubleshoot and resolve complex customer problems.
• Contribute production code and provide thoughtful code reviews; mentor engineers.
• Drive cross-team collaboration and contribute to AI/agentic workflow design and ship.
