Job summary

Learnosity in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a senior infrastructure engineer for a hybrid role. You’ll design, build, and operate a scalable AWS-based platform powering AI-first assessment solutions, collaborating across engineering, product and design.

We require 6+ years in production systems, strong Python, Linux, Docker, and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation). Experience with SaltStack, AWS services, and monitoring is essential for reliable, secure delivery.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in building and operating large-scale production systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• 2 years development experience in at least one language beyond scripting (prefer PHP or Python).
• Advanced Linux skills: iptables, systemd, logging, application management, diagnosis.
• Experience with Docker and containerised applications.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Troposphere, Terraform).
• Experience with configuration management and automation (SaltStack or similar).
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, ALB/NLB, VPCs, IAM, RDS, ECS, Route53, CloudFront).
• Knowledge of databases (MariaDB & PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS).
• Familiarity with monitoring (Datadog, CloudWatch).
• Attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and willingness to receive feedback.
• Experience leading projects (planning, orchestration, migration, deployment).

• Build, maintain, and improve a modern, highly available AWS-based infrastructure for AI-powered products.
• Use AI tools to boost productivity and outcomes.
• Provide end-to-end infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and release ecosystem for an AI-first engineering team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of products.
