Job summary

Mary Technology is hiring a Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure for an AI-powered litigation tech platform. You’ll own scaling, observability, CI/CD pipelines, and security posture. Primary focus includes Terraform-based expansion, proactive alerting, and SOC 2 readiness.

The role emphasizes AWS-based infrastructure with Azure/GCP exposure, scripting in Python/Bash, and Kubernetes container orchestration to support AI workloads.

Qualifications

• Experience in DevOps, Cloud, or SRE roles with strong software fundamentals.
• Owning infrastructure end to end from design to maintenance.
• Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools.
• Working knowledge of AWS; Azure or GCP is a plus.
• Scripting in Python or Bash.

The Role

We're looking for a Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain our cloud infrastructure. You'll work closely with our development and product teams, owning scaling, observability, CI/CD pipelines, and our security posture. Key focus areas include extending our Terraform-based infrastructure as we grow into new regions, building out proactive observability and on-call processes, and supporting our SOC 2 certification and ongoing compliance. Longer term, there's room to shape our approach to AI agent infrastructure, *??* and telemetry as model deployment scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Extend and maintain our Terraform-based infrastructure as we scale into new regions
• Build out proactive alerting and on-call processes, moving us away from reactive, customer-reported issue handling
• Support SOC 2 certification and ongoing compliance, including security questionnaires and control management
• Design and maintain cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS, with Azure and GCP as needed
• Optimise infrastructure for AI workloads, including GPU-enabled clusters and throughput scaling as model deployment and inference capacity grow
• Automate provisioning, scaling, configuration, and monitoring to reduce manual effort
• Improve observability so failures surface with the context needed for fast diagnosis, for engineers and AI tooling alike

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience in DevOps, Cloud, or SRE roles, with strong underlying software engineering fundamentals
• Comfortable owning infrastructure end to end, from design through to maintenance
• Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
• Working knowledge of AWS; exposure to Azure or GCP is a plus
• Scripting ability (Python, Bash)
• Understanding of cloud security principles (IAM, encryption, vulnerability scanning, monitoring)
• Interest in AI infrastructure is a plus, though not required
• Containerisation/orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
