Job summary

Karbon is at the cutting edge of AI and data products, and this role places you at the centre of those advances. You’ll shape the AI platform that underpins our products and contribute to AI architecture in a distributed production environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software, platforms, or ML engineering, with strong Python skills and experience in designing safe, isolated environments for AI deployment. Familiarity with LangChain and OpenAI SDK is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in software engineering, platforms engineering, or machine learning engineering.
• Proven expertise with OCI specifications and secure, isolated container runtimes.
• Hands-on experience architecting distributed, event-driven applications in production environments (LangChain, OpenAI SDK, or Google ADK preferred).
• Proficient in Python; comfortable in multi-language systems; C# & React experience is advantageous.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills; able to translate objectives into technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Designing AI systems - Design, build, and deploy AI systems that solve important customer problems and produce measurable business outcomes.
• Productionise AI - Contribute to building our agent platform, ensuring scalability and operational efficiency.
• AI evaluation and observability - Consider metrics that measure efficiency and reliability of the AI platform.
• Technical decisions - Make sound technical decisions related to systems design, reliability, observability, latency, cost, safety, security, and governance.
• Collaboration - Work in a cross-functional team with AI engineers, full stack engineers, product managers and designers.
