Job summary

Queensland Treasury Corporation in Brisbane seeks a Senior Associate, AI Governance and Operations to shape responsible AI adoption and governance while managing day-to-day governance processes.

You’ll oversee intake and triage, coordinate privacy, security, compliance reviews, maintain governance registers and provide practical guidance to stakeholders. Background in governance, risk, assurance or technology operations is valued.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience operating within a governance, risk, compliance, assurance or other regulated environment.
• Experience managing an intake, case queue or multiple concurrent matters.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with experience gathering requirements and translating complex information into clear actions.
• Strong record-keeping across registers, inventories or governance records.
• Ability to assess information, identify risk and escalate when needed.
• Strong stakeholder skills and the ability to influence without direct authority.
• Experience preparing assessments or reporting for senior stakeholders.
• Microsoft 365 capability and understanding how technology, permissions and data access fit together.

Responsibilities

• Own the AI intake and triage process and ensure proper registration and escalation.
• Coordinate assessments across privacy, security, compliance, legal, model and risk.
• Maintain AI governance registers, inventories and evidence for audit readiness.
• Manage multiple concurrent AI governance matters with stakeholders.
• Support governance of AI agents, including ownership, attestations and lifecycle monitoring.
• Undertake first-pass assessments of vendor and platform changes with data access considerations.
• Prepare clear assessment materials and governance papers for senior forums.
• Provide practical first-line AI governance guidance and improve processes.
• Monitor emerging AI trends and translate insights into practical governance actions.
