M&T Resources in Canberra is seeking an AI Governance, Assurance & TEVV Specialist to help develop and implement governance, assurance and TEVV frameworks for AI-enabled capabilities. You will ensure AI systems are secure, trustworthy, compliant and fit for purpose while supporting informed decision-making across complex technology environments.

This role requires a relevant degree, at least 5 years' experience with AI/ML, strong governance and reporting skills, and the ability to engage with

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working with AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, or emerging technology solutions.
  • Experience in governance, assurance, risk management, compliance, or evaluation activities.
  • Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, technologies, and associated risks.
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation and assessing evidence to support decision‑making.
  • Ability to develop reports, briefings, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Australian Citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain AI governance and assurance artefacts, including AI Use Cases, Model Cards, System Cards, and assurance documentation.
  • Review AI-related policies, submissions, technical papers, and proposals.
  • Provide governance and assurance advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Support AI TEVV activities and assess AI-enabled systems, evidence, performance claims, risks and limitations.
  • Contribute to assurance frameworks, testing methodologies, and evaluation processes.
  • Identify and assess technology, security, privacy, and operational risks.
  • Translate findings into clear recommendations and decision‑support products.
  • Collaborate with technical, operational, regulatory, and business stakeholders.
  • Support adoption of responsible and trustworthy AI practices.

AI Governance, Assurance & TEVV Specialist

We are seeking an experienced AI Governance, Assurance & TEVV Specialist to support the development and implementation of governance, assurance, and testing frameworks for emerging AI-enabled capabilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of artificial intelligence adoption, ensuring AI systems are secure, trustworthy, compliant, and fit for purpose while supporting informed decision‑making across complex technology environments.

Clearance: Australian Citizen with NV1 Required

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain AI governance and assurance artefacts, including:
    • AI Use Cases
    • Model Cards
    • System Cards
    • Assurance documentation
  • Review AI-related policies, submissions, technical papers, and proposals.
  • Provide governance and assurance advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Support AI Test, Evaluation, Verification and Validation (TEVV) activities.
  • Assess AI-enabled systems, technical evidence, performance claims, risks, and limitations.
  • Contribute to assurance frameworks, testing methodologies, and evaluation processes.
  • Identify and assess technology, security, privacy, and operational risks.
  • Translate technical findings into clear recommendations and decision‑support products.
  • Collaborate with technical, operational, regulatory, and business stakeholders.
  • Support the adoption of responsible and trustworthy AI practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working with AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, or emerging technology solutions.
  • Experience in governance, assurance, risk management, compliance, or evaluation activities.
  • Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, technologies, and associated risks.
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation and assessing evidence to support decision‑making.
  • Ability to develop reports, briefings, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders across technical and non‑technical environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Australian Citizenship.
Highly Desirable
  • Experience with AI Governance, Responsible AI, AI Risk, or AI Assurance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting verification, validation, accreditation, certification, or assurance activities.
  • Exposure to Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), computer vision, or advanced analytics solutions.
  • Experience with cloud‑based AI platforms including Microsoft Azure AI, AWS AI/ML, or Google Cloud AI.
  • Knowledge of Python and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
  • Relevant industry certifications in AI, Machine Learning, Cloud Technologies, Systems Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Experience producing assurance artefacts such as Model Cards, System Cards, Assurance Cases, or equivalent governance products.
