Job summary

Wesfarmers OneDigital is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to lead design and delivery of GenAI initiatives across Australia's leading retailers. You will write production-grade code, translate ambiguous requirements into concrete work plans, and own solutions from discovery to deployment and support.

You will collaborate with AI Data Engineers, enterprise teams and governance to ensure scalable AI solutions. A strong engineering foundation and cloud experience are essential for this hybrid Melbourne

Qualifications

7+ years of software engineering experience.
Hands-on with LLM/GenAI production apps.
Proven ability to lead delivery in AI/GenAI projects.
Experience integrating apps with APIs and enterprise systems.
Experience with cloud platforms and production operations.

Responsibilities

Lead solution design and technical delivery for AI initiatives.
Write clean, tested production code on the critical delivery path.
Turn ambiguous requirements into practical design and sequenced engineering work.
Own a solution from technical discovery through deployment and early-life support.
Conduct architecture reviews and mentor engineers during delivery.
Collaborate with AI Data Engineers and enterprise teams to enable data access.
