Job summary

Commonwealth Bank's Institutional Banking & Markets team seeks a Senior Manager, Data Science & AI to lead the design and delivery of applied AI solutions in Global Markets. Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver AI/ML initiatives from inception to production and monitoring.
• Experience working with AI in financial markets or institutional banking preferred.
• Strong programming skills (Python/SQL) and hands-on technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI initiatives end to end from problem definition to production deployment and monitoring.
• Set technical direction while delivering practical tools and patterns.
• Translate complex markets problems into scalable ML/agentic AI solutions.
• Establish modelling, validation, governance and monitoring practices for risk compliance.
• Partner with business, engineering, risk, governance and external partners to ensure safe outcomes.
• Develop and mentor data scientists and graduates through coaching and leadership.
• Drive integration between AI delivery, engineering, and business processes.
• Influence senior stakeholders by linking technical decisions to commercial value.
