Job summary

Commonwealth Bank of Australia is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to guide the Home Buying AI team within Pricing Modelling, delivering high-quality predictive models and insights for retail banking decisions.

You will mentor a team of data scientists, work with stakeholders across Pricing Strategy, Credit Risk, Finance and Group, and drive state-of-the-art modelling techniques using Python/R and cloud tools to improve outcomes for customers and business performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Science leader with exceptional Statistical & ML knowledge.
• Experience in pricing modelling and/or credit risk modelling domains.
• Advanced technical skills in Python, R, Spark, and Teradata SQL.
• Understanding of cloud-based data science tools such as AWS SageMaker and AWS Bedrock.
• Excellent written & verbal communication to influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and guide junior data scientists to deliver business outcomes.
• Present solutions to senior business and non-technical stakeholders.
• Utilise data science techniques to drive model development for key business problems.
• Collaborate with Pricing Strategy and Credit Risk Strategy to provide implementable AI solutions.
• Work with the broader Data Science community to create a centre of excellence.
