CSIRO seeks a Senior Advisor – Indigenous Research Governance to strengthen respectful, ethical Indigenous science across the organisation. You will provide specialist guidance to researchers and contribute to policies, processes and governance.

The role involves monitoring Indigenous science developments and collaborating with national and international partners. You will bring lived Indigenous experience, strong community credibility, and the ability to engage diverse audiences to advance

Qualifications

• Lived experience as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
• Experience in Indigenous governance, data governance and Indigenous Data Sovereignty.
• Ability to work with both Indigenous and non-Indigenous researchers to advance Indigenous science.

Responsabilités

• Provide research methodological knowledge and Indigenous perspectives to support Indigenous rights and self-determination.
• Lead forums, tools and initiatives to strengthen respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
• Support Indigenous research governance through policy guidance and process improvements.
• Advise CSIRO ethics committees and Research Units on culturally appropriate guidelines.
• Develop strategies to build capability of non-Indigenous researchers and Indigenous early career researchers.
• Contribute to policy development, review and implementation for Indigenous science.
