Job summary

CSIRO is seeking an Officer – Indigenous Research Governance to support respectful and accountable engagement with Indigenous science across the organisation. You will handle administration, reporting, tools, and forums to advance best practice in Indigenous science.

You will bring lived Indigenous experience and strong collaboration skills, coordinating with researchers, units and governance teams to ensure effective processes and transparent governance across CSIRO’s Indigenous science

Qualifications

• Grounded in Indigenous knowledge, being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander is essential.
• Proven experience providing accurate administrative, secretariat and project support.
• Ability to maintain records and contribute to quantitative and qualitative reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and engage respectfully with Indigenous staff and stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret policies and procedures, resolve routine administrative matters and seek escalation when needed.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate monitoring, record keeping and reporting on Indigenous science activity across CSIRO.
• Maintain digital dashboards, maps, tagging protocols and other reporting systems.
• Provide administrative, logistical, travel and financial support for events and activities.
• Support internal forums, including Communities of Practice and Indigenous science symposiums.
• Assist with administration of Indigenous Science funding processes and committee activities.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver activities supporting CSIRO’s Indigenous Science goals.
