Job summary

CSIRO is seeking a Senior Advisor – Indigenous Research Governance to strengthen Indigenous science governance, ethics and policy across Research Units. You will provide specialist advice, support researchers, and help monitor Indigenous science developments with a focus on data governance and IP.

A strong track record in engaging Indigenous communities is essential. The role is based across Australia with flexibility in location and work arrangements, and offers a substantial salary plus

Qualifications

• Cultural capability grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing.
• Strong Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community connection and credibility.
• Experience in Indigenous science governance, data governance and Indigenous data sovereignty.

Responsibilities

• Provide research methodological knowledge and Indigenous knowledge to support Indigenous rights and self-determination.
• Lead forums and initiatives to strengthen respectful relationships with Indigenous peoples and communities.
• Support Indigenous Research Governance with mechanisms for Indigenous science projects across units.
• Provide guidance to CSIRO research ethics committees and units on governance and ethics.
