Job summary

CSIRO’s Indigenous Research Governance team is seeking an Officer – Indigenous Research Governance to support respectful, effective engagement with Indigenous science across CSIRO. You will coordinate reporting, records and systems, and provide practical administrative support for team activities and events.

You will bring lived Indigenous experience, plus strong administration, collaboration and communication skills to support multiple units and forums within CSIRO.

Qualifications

• Cultural capability grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing.
• Accurate, high‑quality administrative, secretariat and project support experience.
• Experience maintaining records and contributing to quantitative and qualitative reporting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and stakeholders.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for reports and presentations.
• Ability to interpret policies, resolve routine administrative matters and escalate when needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating monitoring, record keeping and reporting on Indigenous science activity.
• Maintaining digital dashboards, maps, tagging protocols and reporting systems.
• Providing administrative, logistical, travel and financial support for events.
• Supporting internal forums including Communities of Practice and symposia.
• Assisting with administration of Indigenous Science funding processes and committees.
• Collaborating with CSIRO teams to deliver Indigenous Science and Engagement objectives.
