Job summary

The Victorian Government's Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) invites applications for the Senior Adviser for Aboriginal Statewide Coordination and Implementation. The role contributes to strategic direction and aims to improve social and economic participation for Aboriginal individuals, families and communities.

You will lead delivery of key projects in partnership with Aboriginal communities and inter-sectoral partners, applying place-based approaches and strengthening

Qualifications

• Experience in senior advisory or leadership roles within government.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal affairs, self-determination and community development.
• Ability to partner with Aboriginal communities and across departments.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve service quality through consultation with Aboriginal communities, stakeholders and organisations.
• Support monitoring of existing programs and services on the experience of Aboriginal people and contribute to policy development.
• Work across DFFH to advocate for better outcomes for Aboriginal people and participate in relevant forums and networks.
