Momenta Advisors, a Sydney-based firm with Parramatta offices, seeks an Intermediate Accountant for Business Services and Tax. You’ll work closely with partners, manage client relationships and handle tax, BAS/IAS, and year-end processes while supporting advisory and virtual CFO tasks.

The role offers training, study support for CA/CPA, flexible work arrangements, and growth opportunities within a dynamic cloud-based practice.

Competenze

• Degree-qualified in Accounting.
• 3-4 years experience in accounting or advisory roles.
• Experience with Xero and cloud-based accounting tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
• Ambition to learn quickly and work under partner direction.
• Ability to manage workload across multiple clients.

Mansioni

• Handle tax and compliance tasks for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.
• Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS; manage statutory obligations with ATO/ASIC on behalf of clients.
• Prepare year-end financial statements and tidy Xero files including reconciliations.
• Contribute to advisory work, including financial ratio analysis and client benchmarking.
• Support client files and advise on software setup and Xero best practices.

About the Role

You will be an integral part of a growing team, with an opportunity to work closely and with direct contact with the partners of the firm. You will also be encouraged to manage client relationships whilst managing the following tasks:

Tax & Compliance

Preparing individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns

Preparing and lodging BAS and IAS

Managing other statutory obligations, and dealing with the ATO and ASIC on clients' behalf

Business Services & Year-End

Preparing year-end financial statements for all entity types

Reviewing and tidying Xero files, including reconciliations, adjustments and coding reviews

Supporting the team on client files

Advisory & Virtual CFO

Preparing financial ratio analysis and benchmarking against industry

Helping with tax planning and year-end strategy meetings

Contributing to cash flow forecasts, budgets and management reporting for CFO clients

Clients & Growth

Being a day-to-day point of contact for your clients

Advising clients on software setup and Xero best practice

Sharing ideas on how we can improve our processes, service and systems

About the Applicant

We are seeking highly motivated and driven individuals. To be successful you will have the following attributes and qualifications:

Degree Qualified (Major in Accounting)

3-4 Years Experience

Experience with Xero

Highly skilled with Microsoft Office

Ambition to learn quickly and work under instruction from partners

Ability to manage your own workload across a client portfolio

Confident, well presented, self-motivated, attention to detail and excellent communication skills
