Job summary

Southern Generators & Electrical in Dingley Village, VIC, is seeking an experienced and proactive Accountant to oversee the financial operations, guide the administration team, and contribute to continuous improvement across the business.

You will manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, BAS lodgement, payroll tax and superannuation, mentor staff, reconcile assets, review project costings, and drive process efficiencies in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting role.
• Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliations.
• Experience with MYOB or similar accounting software is desirable.
• Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Financial reporting, forecasting and preparation of annual budgets.
• Preparation and lodgement of BAS, payroll tax, and superannuation obligations in accordance with legislative requirements.
• Leading, mentoring and supporting the accounts and administration team, including oversight of the accounts payable, accounts receivable and weekly payroll function.
• Maintaining and reconciling the Fixed Asset Register.
• Reviewing completed project/job costings to identify profitability and investigate variances.
• Inventory and stocktake.
• Assisting with workers' compensation claims, insurance renewals, and claims management while supporting workplace safety initiatives.
• Identifying opportunities to improve business processes, increase efficiencies, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
