Bluefin Resources Pty is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a major Australian retail group’s Asset Management team for a 12-month contract. You will lead data migration into SAP S/4HANA, oversee UAT, month-end closes, and align fixed asset accounting with new processes while coordinating offshore delivery.

Ideal candidates hold CA/CPA/CIMA qualifications with 5+ years in finance and hands-on SAP S/4HANA experience, and a track record in ERP implementations and data migration projects.

Qualifications

• CA, CPA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
• 5+ years’ experience in finance or shared services.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, Great Plains or Dynamics 365.
• Experience in ERP implementations, including UAT and data migration.
• Experience with offshore or outsourced shared services delivery.
• Strong knowledge of capital and fixed asset accounting, and SOP documentation.

Responsabilités

• Lead the migration of capital and fixed asset data into SAP S/4HANA, ensuring data integrity and ledger matching.
• Drive the UAT program, including script development and execution, and resolve data variances and mapping.
• Oversee month-end journals, reconciliations and P&L/balance sheet consolidations.
• Map capital purchase and asset accounting processes in the new ERP, including SOPs and control frameworks.
• Act as onshore mentor to offshore team, delivering structured training and knowledge transfer.
• Support half-year and full-year external audit requirements.

My client, a major Australian retail group, is seeking a driven and detail-focused Senior Accountant to join their Asset Management team on a 12-month contract. Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will be central to a finance transformation program, keeping the capital-related general ledger accurate while the business moves to SAP S/4HANA and transitions work to an offshore delivery team. This is a high-impact role for an accountant who enjoys systems, data and process change, and wants hands-on experience of an ERP go-live.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of capital and fixed asset data from the existing system (Great Plains / Dynamics 365) into SAP S/4HANA, ensuring data integrity and ledger matching


• Drive the user acceptance testing (UAT) program, including script development and execution, and investigate and resolve data variances and mapping


• Oversee month-end journals, reconciliations and P&L / balance sheet consolidations


• Map capital purchase and asset accounting processes in the new ERP, including SOPs and control frameworks


• Act as the onshore mentor to the offshore team, delivering structured training and knowledge transfer


• Support half-year and full-year external audit requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• CA, CPA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)


• 5+ years’ experience in finance, shared services or global business services


• Hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA, Great Plains or Dynamics 365


• Experience in an ERP implementation, including UAT and data migration


• Experience in an offshore or outsourced shared services delivery model is highly desirable


• Strong knowledge of capital and fixed asset accounting, and experience in process improvement and documenting SOPs

This is a 12m Fixed Term Contract and can be based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide
