Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a diligent and experienced finance professional to oversee month-end close, prepare management reports, and manage AP/AR for a growing professional services client in Australia.

You will handle payroll, payroll tax obligations, BAS/GST reconciliations, cash flow forecasting and year-end audit preparation, while driving process improvements across the finance function. Strong Excel and accounting system skills are essential.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CA qualification, or working towards.
• 3–5+ years experience in a broad accounting position.
• Proficient with Excel and accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management reports, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reporting.
• Oversee accounts payable, supplier payments and reconciliations.
• Manage accounts receivable, customer invoicing, collections and debtor management.
• Process payroll and manage superannuation, PAYG and payroll tax obligations.
• Prepare BAS, GST reconciliations and assist with statutory compliance requirements.
• Manage bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasting and treasury activities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial variance analysis.
• Assist with year-end audit requirements and preparation of audit schedules.
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities across finance operations.
