Job summary

SKG SERVICES is seeking a detail-driven Senior Accountant to join our finance team at the Miranda Head Office in Sydney. This full-time, on-site role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company’s financial planning and reporting.

You will lead management accounting, financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations, supervise finance staff, and drive improvements in processes and data accuracy while collaborating with operations to explain results and support decisions.

Qualifications

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualification, or progress towards completion.
• Demonstrated experience in management accounting, financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience supervising finance staff, ideally across accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using accounting systems.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to meet competing deadlines.
• A collaborative approach and confidence working with stakeholders across different functions.
• Experience in facilities management or a service-based business would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports, including profit and loss statements, variance analysis and commentary.
• Complete month-end processes, journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
• Analyse financial performance, costs and trends to support operational and commercial decisions.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including payment processing, collections and debtor management.
• Lead and develop the team, setting clear priorities and monitoring performance.
• Maintain effective financial controls and support compliance with company policies and reporting requirements.
• Work with operational managers to explain financial results and resolve queries.
• Support audits and improve finance processes, reporting and data accuracy.
