Job summary

SKG Services in Sydney's Miranda head office seeks a detail-driven Management Accountant to join the finance team. You will prepare monthly management reports, maintain balance sheet reconciliations and provide financial insights to support business decisions.

This hands-on leader will oversee a small finance team, drive process improvements and collaborate with stakeholders across the business. A degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA/CA qualification (or progress toward) are preferred, with

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualification or progress toward.
• Experience in management accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience supervising finance staff.
• Strong analytical skills and clear financial explanation.
• Advanced Excel skills and accounting systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports, including P&L, variance analysis and commentary.
• Complete month-end processes, journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
• Analyse financial performance, costs and trends to support operational and commercial decisions.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including payment processing, collections and debtor management.
• Lead and develop the team, setting clear priorities and monitoring performance.
• Maintain effective financial controls and support compliance with company policies and reporting requirements.
• Work with operational managers to explain financial results and resolve queries.
• Support audits and improve finance processes, reporting and data accuracy.

We are looking for a detail-driven and experienced Management Accountant to join our finance team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Based at our Miranda, Sydney head office, you will prepare management reports, maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and provide financial insights to support business decisions. This role suits a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys leading a team, improving processes and working closely with stakeholders across the business.

Key responsibilities but not limited to-

• Prepare monthly management reports, including profit and loss statements, variance analysis and commentary.
• Complete month-end processes, journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
• Analyse financial performance, costs and trends to support operational and commercial decisions.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including payment processing, collections and debtor management.
• Lead and develop the team, setting clear priorities and monitoring performance.

About you

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualification, or progress towards completion.
• Demonstrated experience in management accounting, financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience supervising finance staff, ideally across accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using accounting systems.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to meet competing deadlines.
• A collaborative approach and confidence working with stakeholders across different functions.
• Experience in facilities management or a service-based business would be advantageous.
