Job summary

Grey Space Advisory in Sydney seeks a seasoned public practitioner to own a portfolio of SME clients end-to-end, from compliance through advisory. You’ll work with a supportive team and leverage offshore delegation to focus on high-value work.

You have 5+ years in public practice or corporate accounting, near CA/CPA, and skills in Xero and cloud systems. The firm offers a flexible schedule, modern office, mentorship, and rapid progression.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in public practice or corporate accounting.
• Completed or working towards your CA/CPA.
• Skilled in Xero, Xero Tax, and cloud-based systems.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Sydney-based (or willing to relocate).

Job description

We’re a Sydney-based accounting and advisory firm working with ambitious SME business owners across Australia - tax compliance, business structuring, and strategic advice. We tripled revenue in the past 12 months and are currently integrating two acquisitions, which means real breadth of exposure for someone who wants more than routine compliance work. We run on modern, cloud-based systems and back our Sydney team with a Philippines-based team, so our seniors get genuine delegation leverage rather than doing everything themselves.

The Role

You’ll own a portfolio of SME clients end-to-end — from compliance through to advisory, with technical support available when you need it, not sitting over your shoulder.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals

Preparing BAS/IAS and financial statements

Tax planning and advisory work

Managing end-to-end jobs, with delegation support from our offshore team

Engaging directly with clients and owning the relationship

About You

5+ years’ experience in public practice or corporate accounting

Completed or working towards your CA/CPA

Skilled in Xero, Xero Tax, and cloud-based systems

Strong attention to detail and communication skills

Self-driven and eager to learn

Sydney-based (or willing to relocate)
