The Andersen Partnership is recruiting a Senior Accountant in Sydney to join a hands-on practice. You’ll manage a portfolio, review work and own client relationships while solving technical tax and accounting challenges across a varied client base.

We seek CA/CPA qualified professionals with 3+ years in public practice who are comfortable directing client discussions and pursuing a path to Manager, with flexible working arrangements offered.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified (or close to completion).
• 3+ years' experience in public practice (essential).
• Strong technical accounting and tax fundamentals, with the confidence to review others' work.
• Experience across a range of client entities (individuals, trusts, companies, SMSFs).
• Comfortable working directly with clients, not just behind the scenes.
• Genuine interest in progressing toward a Manager role.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of clients across financial statements, income tax returns and BAS/IAS compliance.
• Preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, trusts, companies and partnerships.
• Reviewing work prepared by Intermediates and Graduates, and supporting their technical development.
• Liaising directly with clients on their affairs, including more complex tax and structuring queries.
• Assisting with tax planning, Division 7A, CGT and small business concessions as they arise within the portfolio.
• Working closely with Managers and Partners on larger or more technical client matters.
• Contributing to client meetings and building your own relationships within the portfolio.
