Qualifications

  • Significant experience in corporate or financial accounting.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, month-end management, and external audit support.
  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP is highly desirable.
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screen.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares consolidated financial reports monthly with accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepares Corporate Accounting reports for input into quarterly ASX releases.
  • Supports half and full year financial accounts and external audit coordination.
  • Assists month-end close activities including journals and reconciliations.
  • Tests and analyses Corporate OPEX and CAPEX variances to identify discrepancies.
  • Supports weekly rolling cash flow forecasts and treasury activities.
  • Contributes to cost control initiatives and financial analysis across operations.
  • Designs and improves accounting processes and mentors junior staff.

The opportunity

In this role, the Senior Corporate Accountantprovides advanced technical accounting expertise to support the integrity of Liontown's financial reporting and compliance obligations. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the role is accountable for delivering consolidated financial reporting, managing month-end close processes, and coordinating external audit activities.

What you’ll be doing

As one of two Senior Corporate Accountants, you will be operating at an advanced professional level, the position applies in-depth knowledge of accounting standards, taxation obligations, and financial controls to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reporting across corporate OPEX, CAPEX, and statutory requirements. The role partners closely with finance and operational teams, contributing specialist insight that supports sound financial decision-making across the business. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepares consolidated financial reports on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Preparation of Corporate Accounting reports for input into quarterly ASX releases.
  • Supports preparation of the half and full year financial accounts and coordination of the external audit process, ensuring audit deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Supports month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations, to ensure the integrity of financial records within required timeframes.
  • Provides specialist analysis of Corporate OPEX and CAPEX variances, identifying discrepancies and developing recommendations to address material differences.
  • Support weekly preparation of rolling cash flow forecasts and treasury activities, ensuring accurate forecasting and supporting liquidity management requirements.
  • Contributes to cost control initiatives and financial analysis across operations, providing insights that support informed decision-making and performance improvement.
  • Designs and improves accounting processes and procedures to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial reporting standards, and mentors less experienced finance professionals to support capability development within the team.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc information requests.
What we’re looking for

This role requires significant experience in corporate or financial accounting. With several interesting projects in the pipeline, the position extends well beyond traditional accounting duties and will suit someone who enjoys a broader scope of work — including system improvements, process streamlining, and business partnering. We are looking for:

  • Significant experience in corporate or financial accounting, preferably within a listed company or resources environment.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, month-end management, and external audit support
  • Proven experience with ERP systems; experience with SAP is highly desirable
  • Relevant experience applying Australian accounting standards
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • CPA , CA or CIMA professional accounting qualification
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screen.
