Qualifications

• At least 3 years' Australian public practice tax accounting experience.
• Strong experience preparing financial statements and tax returns.
• Understanding of Australian tax and compliance requirements.
• Some SMSF experience or exposure.
• Confidence communicating directly with clients.
• Great attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Xero and accounting software.
• IPA, CPA or CA qualifications, or working towards them, preferred.
• Friendly, approachable, takes ownership of your work and genuinely enjoys helping clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships and SMSFs.
• Prepare BAS, IAS and FBT returns.
• Work across SMSF compliance and administration.
• Manage your own workflow and keeping jobs moving.
• Dealing directly with clients and helping them stay on top of their tax obligations.
• Explaining tax and accounting matters in plain English.
• Review client information and picking up issues or opportunities along the way.
• Building genuine, long-term relationships with your clients.
• Working with the team to improve the way we do things.
