Job summary

SMAART Recruitment is assisting a well-established Adelaide accounting practice seeking an Accountant with at least 1 year of Business Services or Tax experience. You will work across tax, SMSFs and business services, with direct client exposure and a varied workload.

The role involves financial statements, tax returns, BAS lodgement, Xero reconciliations and robust client service. Based at Modbury with some time in Prospect, the firm offers a collaborative team and room to grow.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in Business Services or Tax Accounting.
• Experience preparing financial statements and income tax returns across multiple entity types.
• Experience working with Xero Practice Manager and Xero Ledger.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Preparing financial statements for small and medium-sized businesses across a range of entity types.
• Preparing and lodging income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.
• Preparing and lodging quarterly BAS.
• Reconciling Xero files and completing general bookkeeping duties.
• Assisting with SMSF accounting and taxation matters, where applicable.
• Responding to day-to-day accounting and taxation queries and providing practical support to clients.
• Liaising with the ATO on behalf of clients.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records.
• Assisting with general practice administration as required.
