Job summary

Strategic Tax & Business Solutions in Caboolture is seeking an experienced tax accountant to handle individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs. You will manage your own workflow and interact directly with clients, explaining tax matters in plain English.

With 3+ years in Australian public practice tax accounting, you will prepare financial statements, tax returns and BAS/IAS/FBT, using Xero and related software, while building relationships and improving processes.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' Australian public practice tax accounting experience.
• Strong experience preparing financial statements and tax returns.
• Good understanding of Australian tax and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

Strategic Tax & Business Solutions – Caboolture QLD

You'll work across individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs, with the opportunity to manage your own workflow and deal directly with clients. You'll have autonomy in your role, but you definitely won't be left on your own. We're a close team, we bounce things off each other, help each other out when things get busy and are always looking for better ways to do things.

Key responsibilities

Preparing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships and SMSF's

Preparing BAS, IAS and FBT returns

Working across SMSF compliance and administration

Managing your own workflow and keeping jobs moving

Dealing directly with clients and helping them stay on top of their tax obligations

Explaining tax and accounting matters in plain English

Reviewing client information and picking up issues or opportunities along the way

Building genuine, long-term relationships with your clients

Working with the team to improve the way we do things

About you

At least 3 years' Australian public practice tax accounting experience

Strong experience preparing financial statements and tax returns

A good understanding of Australian tax and compliance requirements

Some SMSF experience or exposure

Confidence communicating directly with clients

Great attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Experience with Xero and accounting/tax software

IPA, CPA or CA qualifications, or working towards them, preferred

Friendly, approachable, takes ownership of their work and genuinely enjoys helping clients
