Job summary

PICA Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to ensure financial integrity, compliance and performance across strata and community schemes. The role partners with Strata Managers, clients and auditors to deliver accurate reporting and mentoring. A strong accounting background and mentoring ability are essential.

The position is a 12-month maximum-term contract with a focus on continuous improvement, governance and stakeholder collaboration to support community living.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or related discipline.
  • 5+ years' accounting experience.
  • Experience using StrataMaster and strong proficiency in Excel and financial systems.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, audits and regulatory obligations.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, GST, BAS and taxation requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with mentoring ability.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting across a portfolio of strata and community schemes.
  • Manage complex reconciliations, trust accounting activities, and financial control processes.
  • Oversee BAS, taxation, compliance, audit and year-end reporting requirements.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and mentoring to Accountants and Assistant Accountants.
  • Partner with stakeholders to solve financial challenges and drive operational excellence.

The impact you’ll have:

As a Senior Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity, compliance, and performance of a diverse portfolio of strata and community schemes.

Partnering with Strata Managers, clients, auditors, and key stakeholders, you'll deliver accurate reporting, provide financial expertise, oversee compliance requirements, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

This role is ideal for an experienced accountant who enjoys solving complex problems, mentoring others, and making a meaningful impact through high-quality financial management.

What you’ll do:

What you’ll bring:

  • Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, GST, BAS, and taxation requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to mentor others and influence outcomes.
