Job summary

RSM Australia in Fremantle is seeking an experienced and client-focused Senior Accountant to join our established Business Advisory division. As part of a collaborative, high-performing team, you will provide insights, analyse financial information, and prepare financial reports for our clients.

Qualifications

• Business / Commerce degree with Accounting Major.
• 2+ years in a similar role.
• CA or equivalent (desirable) and Xero experience.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with clients, supporting with Xero enquiries.
• Applies basic tax compliance procedures.
• Assists with tax planning for clients.
• Prepare income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies & trusts.
• Prepare financial statements that comply with all current, legal and accounting reporting standards.
• Apply your knowledge of the client's business environment and industry positioning to deliver tailored advice.
• Prepare clear, concise and accurate work papers, that serve as evidence of work performed and the foundation for decision making.
• Completes requisite regulatory forms; and
• Complies with lodgement program by meeting lodgement dates and requirements.

About The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and client-focused Senior Accountant to join our established Business Advisory division in Fremantle. As a Senior Accountant, you will go beyond traditional number-crunching, providing valuable insights that help our clients thrive. In this role you will analyse financial information, prepare financial reports, and maintain meticulous records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities for the Firm’s clients.

You’ll also collaborate closely with our Partners and Director, while playing a key role in guiding and mentoring junior team members. We’re proud of our tight-knit supportive culture - one that champions teamwork, celebrates wins, and supports your ongoing professional growth.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include

About You

The Successful Applicant

To be considered for this position you will possess the following:

Essential

• Business / Commerce degree with Accounting Major
• 2+ years in a similar role;
• Strong communication skills;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team; and

Desirable

• Completed or working towards CA or equivalent
• Previous experience of using Xero Software
• Previous experience in public practice
